School Library
The library is at the heart of the school and is full of up to date fiction, non-fiction and ICT resources.
Reading is crucial and should be a pleasure and we like to arrange activities to support and promote this. Each year we celebrate World Book Day and run an inter-form competition while the staff get involved in their own ‘special’ way!!! The day is always a success and it creates a great atmosphere around school.
We participate in the Bolton Book Award every year where pupils can read new fiction. We take part in exciting workshops, and we get to vote for our favourite books. Then we meet the authors! It is always a successful and exciting event.
We like to have visitors in school. This visitor usually takes the form of a poet or an author. We have had Joe Craig- The author of the Jimmy Coates series and Chris Bradford, Ninja Author who brought his books to life by demonstrating moves, kicks and punches from Karate and reading extracts for some of his books, such as "Hostage" and "Ransam" from the Bodyguard series.
