Admissions Consultation

Admissions for September 2027 to St James's Church of England High School

As the admissions authority for St James's School, the Governing Board have reviewed the school’s admissions policy and is proposing changes to the oversubscription criteria for Year 7 admission in September 2027.

The key areas under consultation within the proposed policy include:
- Change to sibling points
- Change to Bolton Deanery points
- Change of monitored worship to 2 years
- Change to how Worship points are allocated
- Additional Tiebreak point (Point 2 – children who attend a Church of England primary school within the Bishop Fraser Trust at the time the application is made)

Consultation Period

The consultation period for these changes will run from Monday 1 December 2025 to Friday 28th January 2026.
